IFBI PGDBO: Course Details: PGDBO (Post Graduate Diploma in Banking Operations) is a Post-Graduate program, offered by Institute of Finance, Banking and Insurance (IFBI). The main objective of this program is to build a pool of banking professional before they take up the banking activities. The program is commenced by ICICI, IFBI, and NIIT. Students who got appointed in the program is posted as Sales Officer, Clerk, Customer Service Officer (CSO) and its subsidiaries. The goal of this course is to cultivate officers and trained them to be filled in various positions in the Bank across its branches. Who can assist the growing operations of ICICI bank and help to achieve new levels of profit and customer services? The objective of the program is creating a first day, first hour, Industry ready and entry-level professional in the banking sector. Thus modern Professionals for Modern Banking.
Program Objective: PGDBPO is a six-month program with a paid Internship. The first three months is a full-time class work session. Students who have completed the 3 months class work session will go to internship session, rest of the 3 months. The program is rich in both its content as well as Methodology. Students are assigned to one of the banks at the conclusion of 3 months of classroom training and are given tasks, that they normally perform. The internship program offers a real-life experience of day to day banking activities. Students, who undergo internship will be monitored by experts and guided by faculty members of IFBI.
Program Description: Students who have been going through to 3 months of class work session, will be taught courses, will include overview of Banking, Fundamentals of Banking, Professional Skills, Retail Banking, Application Software in Banking, Relationship Management, Application Projects, Financial Accounts, Business Communication, Professional Skills-grooming and so on, by professional Faculty of IFBI and ICICI Bank.
Other than learning in Class, students are also given a project of an allotted topic in banking, which helps them in realistic experience in being a professional banker. Class work session includes 4-5 hours of study lecture and other activities. Three hours of supervised self-study takes place after the class work. In addition to the classroom projects, students are required to participate in collaborative projects and assignments, e-learning and other reference work. Students may have had to work on some local holidays too.
Eligibility Criteria for IFBI PGDBO Program
- Should be born on or After 1993
- Should hold a Bachelor Degree of 3 or 4 years
- Candidates should have 50% marks in 10,12 and Degree Examinations
- Gap between academics are not acceptable
- Those who have studied through correspondence are not considered only regular students can apply
- Candidates having 2 years work experience are preferable.
Selection Process of PGDBO: The Selection process of PGDBO is done through an Entrance exam called NBET (National Banking Entrance Test) and aptitude test. Those who pass the exam will be called for an Interview, for the selection process and will be enrolled in PGDBO program after fee payment.The exam includes the following topics.
- English Language
- Basic Checking
- Logical Reasoning
- Numerical Ability.
Placement Services: The IFBI Industry comes with 100% placement offer. These candidates are pre-selected by the partnering organizations at the time of enrollment for employment, after the Completion of Program. Since its Inception in 2006, IFBI has placed more than 32,000 students in different banks. Maximum recruitment happened in branch banking & sales, which are two critical roles. The average salary for students, after completing programme is 1.8 lakh per annum. Students are recruited in the banks which are ICICI Bank, Yes Bank, IndusInd Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Axis Bank.
